Our Choir brings WMWA staff, survivors and supporters together, to build confidence and most importantly have fun! We meet on a Monday at 5:30pm in Hereford.
We use the choir as a vehicle to raise awareness about our services and our song choices aim to reflect our mission and empower our members and those we work with.
The WMWA choir was set up in 2022, as a way to mark a significant milestone, commemorating four decades of dedicated service. We commissioned an original, poignant song titled ‘Still Strong’ which reflects on our history and the ongoing battle against domestic abuse. This inspiring anthem serves as a reminder that while progress has been made, our commitment to eradicating domestic violence remains unwavering. You can watch the music video of our song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfxbmS754fM
What initially began as an 8-week project has flourished into a thriving community initiative. Last year we received the Silver Award in the People’s Choice category at the prestigious Smiley Charity Film Awards for a documentary recording our journey. We are so grateful for the support we have received and the opportunity to develop our choir and extend our support network, knowing that together, we can continue to make strides towards a future free from domestic abuse.
Our choir is very relaxed and welcoming with no prior singing experience needed – we would love to welcome you as a new member, please get in touch if you’d like any further information!
No auditions and no experience necessary.
