Description

This training will raise awareness and increase the understanding of domestic abuse in later life including financial abuse, adult family violence and dementia in cases of domestic abuse. We will explore some of the barriers that older victim/survivors may face when seeking support for domestic abuse. We will provide an overview of the Specialist Domestic Abuse Service that West Mercia Women’s Aid provides.

Who is this course for?

This course is for professionals or volunteers who work in the health sector, social work, education settings and those who work in a safeguarding role and have responsibility for directly dealing with disclosures of domestic abuse and/or supporting victims and survivors. Learners should have a basic understanding of domestic abuse.
