We are incredibly grateful for the long-standing support of Hereford Inner Wheel, whose members have been standing alongside West Mercia Women’s Aid for many years.

Their support began when members first became aware of our refuge and wanted to help in a practical, heartfelt way. They started by baking cakes and soon extended their efforts to collecting essential items such as toiletries. One of their members lovingly makes fabric toiletry bags, and together the group fills each bag with useful items.

These toiletry bags are donated at Christmas and offer more than just practical support – they provide a sense of care, dignity, and reassurance to women and families in refuge, reminding them that their wellbeing matters and that their community cares.

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of visiting Hereford Inner Wheel meetings to share updates about our services, current projects, and the vital role community support plays in our work. We value staying connected and keeping them informed about the difference their generosity makes.

Last November, 12 members of Hereford Wye Valley Inner Wheel took part in a walk around the racecourse in support of the global ‘Orange the World’ campaign, which raises awareness of violence against women and girls. Thanks to the awareness and support generated through this event, the group raised a remarkable £1,200.

This funding will create a flexible support pot for our clients, helping in a wide range of situations – from providing food and clothing for those fleeing with nothing, to covering costs associated with moving into a new home. It will also enable women and families to take part in activities, to have fun and create positive experiences together.

We are deeply thankful to the members of Hereford Inner Wheel for their compassion, commitment, and continued support. Their kindness truly makes a difference.
